2011 GET-AWAY MINI ALBUM

AND it's finally DONE!!! Our Pearl Farm (Samal, Philippines) get-away.

After browsing through Stephanie's blog & after years of putting off this album, I finally plunged into it. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience & it's worth documenting into an album.

I wanted to use a 6x8 binder for this album but since I've bought a handmade paper album from there, I decided to use it as it's part of the memory. Since I was not going to use the brown paper inside the album, I just took it off & the existing binding screws. Punched holes for the front & back covers & used the binding rings instead.

It's my first album with different paper & photo sizes. This is also my first time to add assorted page protectors since I've got a bunch of photos to put in the album. Because I just bought a second hand mini sewing machine, I had fun adding stitches on some of my pages. And since I only have limited materials on hand, I just added a few embellishments here & there. I used elements & papers from Studio Calico Project Life kits & from Pretty Papers UAE. I cut the words from some of the journal cards & used it as embellishments. Even included some of the cut files I designed which coordinated well with our beach-pool photos.

I really enjoyed making this album. I created the base with some of the memorabilia I got from there like the brochures, coaster from the restaurant, & the fridge magnet (I wished I took a few more memorabilia & a postcard, too) while I waited for the weekend to come so I could go to the print shop for my photos. After the photos were printed, it took me 2 days to put everything together. What took me longer to do was the journaling. To keep the entire album intact, I added the elastic band on the back cover.

Again, thanks to Stephanie for the inspiration, just in the right time. Now, I'm thinking of my next mini. Visit her blog & get inspire to create minis. And she's right... minis "are worth 100% of the effort". Stephanie inspired me with her travel mini & I hope I get to inspire you.

Thanks for dropping by, too.

WITH ALL MY HEART MINI ALBUM

It's done after 5 days!!!

I never thought I would be this satisfied with how this turned out. It was my initial intention to get rid of the album as it's been sitting on the book shelf for more than a year now & thought that it's too small for what I want. On the other hand, since I planned on creating a mini album for my parents' wedding anniversary, I decided to use this & send it to Philippines.

Looking at my limited stock of materials & limited photos of my family, I didn't have the enthusiasm to start the album. Most of the photos I used were from my siblings' Facebook pages (low resolution) & some of the photos I brought with me from our previous vacation. Got discouraged at first but I still continued. It was only during the last 2 days that I got suddenly excited to see the finished album. Now, I even thought of keeping it for myself (Hahaha).

I wanted to flip through every pages over & over again. I really hope my parents will be as happy as I am  when they view this album. Can't wait to plan with my next 4x4 mini album.

I used different journal cards & mostly from Studio Calico Project Life Kits. Papers & embellishments are from my remaining stocks & some were from free printables I downloaded from Studio Calico. I also incorporated stitching & some little items on a few pages. It somehow adds pizzazz.

JANUARY PROJECT LIFE

February is almost over in less than 2 weeks and finally got to finish our January project life pages. I must admit coming from a 6x8 format, doing 12x12 is quite challenging but hopefully, I will be able to get through the rest of the year.

Here's our January
The Spreads:

Some details:
Brought some sand from the beach

Got this button/pin from Okaidi Obaidi shop a long time ago & it fits well to our zooventure because the weather was sunny.

Just 3 of the many milk teeth that Kuyamak already lost.

Loving wood embellishments lately.

Will be back in a couple of weeks for the February pages.

WELCOME PROJECT LIFE 2015

Hello, I'm back & here's my title page to welcome Project Life 2015 for me & my boys. I think this year will be the best & not so worst, exciting & discouraging, happy & sad, peaceful & angry... there'll be contentment & regrets BUT will try my very best not to regret a thing because "to everything there is a season & a time to every purpose under the heaven" (Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV) and "all things worked together for good to them that loved God..." (Romans 8:28 KJV). This will be a different roller coaster ride for us (for me, for K, & for the boys) but life has to be lived to the fullest, right? RIGHT. "Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" (Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV)... claiming this.

Wherever we are & how busy we become, will still make each day count & create more memories for "time falls away but these small hours still remain..." (Little Wonders by Rob Thomas).

Have a happy week everyone... it's the first day of the week here.
